Press Release

Regarding: Wildeloo 2008

 28 June 2007

Wednesday the 27th of June saw about 25 people attend the Wildeloo public meeting held in Cummins. The meeting was held to decide the status of the 2008 event.

After much discussion on the previous years events and some constructive feedback a vote was taken to decide the future of the 2008 event and beyond. As the 11 to 12 vote suggested, it was a very difficult decision to make by all those present. It was however decided that the rocking event aimed at the Eyre Peninsula youth will at this stage not be continuing in 2008. The year will give the committee time to re evaluate the events financial situation.

All those present at the meeting had mixed feelings as it is quite devastating to see such a great community event being jeopardized.

No body really wants the event to be put on hold for a year but it may, in the long run benefit from it, when Wildeloo returns with a real vengeance in 2009.

No enthusiasm will be lost by the committee members, if anything they will be more determined to make the future Wildeloo events better than the four previous years.

Preparation for the 2009 event is beginning. The remainder of this year along with 2008 will see some other great events co-coordinated and supported by the Wildeloo committee members.

It is sad to see Wildeloo 2008 at this stage not be happening, but with the continued support of Cummins and the surrounding districts we will hopefully see the biggest, best and most rocking Wildeloo yet in 2009.
